DO IT FOR DOLLY DAY

On Friday 8 May, students at St Joseph's College wore a touch of blue to raise awareness and show support for anti-bullying organisation Dolly's Dream.

When students arrived, Student Representative Council members promoted the cause's antibullying message by handing out positive affirmations on stickers and pegs and encouraging random acts of kindness. At lunch, the canteen sold blue cupcakes.

– Every year, we all get a little closer to a world free from bullying.

Mildura Youth Leadership Summit
Mildura Youth Leadership Summit

Current and aspiring young leaders at the College attended the Mildura Rural City Council Youth Leadership Summit on Friday 27 March.

They had an opportunity to network with student leaders from other schools and discovered how to successfully collaborate as leaders. Afterward, everyone worked together to complete group activities.

We'll post an update when these students put their newfound skills to good use as they lead a change project at the College.

IDAHOBIT

The international day against LGBT discrimination, IDAHOBIT, is celebrated annually on 17 May. Because that date fell on a Sunday, the College celebrated on Monday 18 May.

At lunchtime, the student Rainbow Alliance painted faces with free 'glitter glow-ups'. Students could also purchase delicious rainbow cupcakes. Rainbow Alliance members also enlisted their classmates to help create an awesome rainbow mural 🌈

IDAHOBIT is a celebration of inclusion, acceptance, and a future that's better for everyone.
