From the Assistant Principal, Cocurricular

The ISA has published an updated Code of Conduct. The Code sets the behavioural, safety, and compliance expectations for all participants in ISA inter-school sport.  This includes students, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents, spectators and administrators. The Code applies at all ISA fixtures, training sessions, representative programs, online environments, and any school-sanctioned sporting activity.

Please take the time to familarise yourself with this new document as there are changes to the previous code of conduct.

SPX CRICKET - AGM

SPX Cricket Club warmly invites all members of the College community to attend the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held on Tuesday 19 May at 6:30 pm at The Orchard Hotel.

The AGM is an important opportunity to reflect on the past season, celebrate the growth and achievements of our players and teams, and look ahead to the continued development of cricket at SPX.

A key part of the evening will be the election of the 2026/27 Committee, including all Executive positions. The Club is always keen to welcome new voices and perspectives, and we encourage anyone with an interest in supporting SPX Cricket to consider getting involved. That said, attending the AGM does not carry any obligation to take on a formal role - your presence and input are valued in any capacity.

Whether you are a current parent, past player, coach, or supporter of the Club, we would love to see you there.

Sydney10 5km Fun Run

Our next 5km fun run with Sydney10 is this weekend. As this is an external event, students will need to organise their own way to and from the venue. Mr Steinman and I will be there to support and supervise any bags and belongings during the duration of this run.

It is not too late to register.  I will be collecting our bibs this Saturday for those who join the school team.

Students receive a 20% off the registration fee using code STPIUS10 at checkout.

Please notify me via email once you have registered.

Another tough week against St Patrick’s Strathfield, with a particular shout out to the 5th XI for a dominant 5-0 win.

Teams are split both home and away this Saturday.  Please note for teams playing away against Blue Mountains Grammar that substantial travel time of close to 2 hours is involved, particularly with road closures.

There is no training for the next two Monday afternoons, but please note that morning trainings will still occur as per Clipboard.

Good luck to all teams this weekend.

Shore Trial # 2

St Pius X College Rugby faced Shore at Oxford Falls last weekend in Trial #2, with plenty of positive signs right across the program.

The 1st XV was strong in their win, playing with good physicality and composure to set the tone for the upcoming ISA season. There were also some impressive performances from the 3rd XV and 13B side, while several teams across the 15s recorded convincing wins.

Rugby Supporters' Day – Saturday 30 May at Oxford Falls

We warmly invite all students and their families to join us for our annual Rugby Supporters' Day at Oxford Falls on Saturday 30 May. We encourage everyone to stay and show their support for our 1st and 2nd XV teams throughout the day. As a special thank you, students will receive a token for a complimentary sausage sandwich, available from 2:00 pm.

Many of our Year 12 students have been representing the College on the rugby field since Year 5, and it is a wonderful tradition to acknowledge and celebrate their final season. This event is also a fantastic opportunity for younger students to experience the spirit of St Pius X rugby and be inspired for their own future journeys.

We look forward to seeing you there, cheering loudly and showing your support!

Energy was the Theme of the Day

Round 2 saw some of our teams record their first win of the season and a special mention must be made of our First IV who had a great win over Redlands. An early morning withdrawal due to illness resulted in a call up for Lachlan from our Div 2 side. He answered the call and helped the team to a 5 sets to 3 victory. According to Ms Colefax, 'the boys all supported each other with positive energy.'  Congratulations to those students.
