How amazing that we are already halfway through the year and celebrating 100 Days of School! We are very excited as our 100 Days of School celebration day draws near.
One of the most exciting moments on the first day of term was welcoming the newest member of our classroom team, Simone, our new Education Support teacher. The students were thrilled to welcome Simone, and she has already become a valued part of our classroom community. We are delighted to have her join us and look forward to a wonderful semester together. Welcome to the Alvie team Simone!
The first two weeks of term have been filled with exciting learning experiences. The students have loved exploring during Bush Play, spending time in the wetlands, and discovering the new playground. On the very first day of term, they also enjoyed a wonderful Paddock to Plate lesson with Ms Thorley, where they worked together to prepare a delicious apple crumble.
In Mathematics, our Foundation students have been consolidating their number knowledge while learning about addition and subtraction. Our Year 1/2 students have been revising and extending their understanding of 2D shapes through a range of engaging activities.
In Literacy, we shared our holiday experiences and transformed them into small storybooks to read and share with others. It was a wonderful way to build our writing skills while celebrating our holiday memories.
We also welcomed back one of our favourite Friday afternoon activities—Choose Your Own Adventure! Students had the opportunity to select a new group based on their interests. This term's rotation includes ukulele, outdoor sports, wire art, and aerobics. Friday afternoons are always filled with excitement, and the students eagerly look forward to this special time each week.
Until next time, we hope you enjoy the beginning of a wonderful school term!
