Year 3 Gardening

Gardening at BRPS with Mrs Hewitt and Lara is hands on, fun and educational. It helps us use our brains with nature and learn new skills that we will use everyday in our journey. Here are some excellent jobs we do, like weeding, we take out the weeds and plant new beautiful baby seeds. The next activity is composting, that might sound gross but it is really fun as you get to find new and interesting bugs. Next, the worm farm is AWESOME! First we pour water into the worm farm and check how the worms are going, then we collect the worm juice up to 1 litre and mix it with 5 litres of water and pour it onto the plants. Overall, gardening is one of the best subjects!

We like it when we use a spade to chop the fruit scraps from the classroom compost buckets. We enjoy digging holes to plant potatoes and other plants and then put the soil back around the plants. We like watering the plants as it is healthy for them. We enjoy coming to our gardening session because we love being in the fresh air.

We have planted tomatoes and flowers and we like planting near the Ferguson Street gate as everyone will see the flowers. We enjoy pulling out weeds, chopping dead branches from the trees and watering. We are looking forward to paper shredding.
