Team Success
Congratulations to our girls basketball team who have qualified to play in this year's State Hoop Time competition. The state comp will take place on Wednesday, December 2nd. Good luck!
Student Success
We have had some BIG results in the last few weeks in the way of individual success.
Last week, Gemma E (5/6C), Billie K (5/6C) and Georgia K (5/6D) all competed at this year's SSV state athletics carnival.
Gemma finished the day taking out bronze in shot put and 6th in long jump, Georgia came 6th in shot put while Billie took out bronze for triple jump and completed a remarkable day by all the girls by winning her 80m hurdles race to become STATE CHAMPION.
Another incredible sporting achievement occurred recently with Freddie G (5/6D) competing in, AND WINNING, the under 11 Boys National Championship for squash.
Freddie had an outstanding week at the Australian Junior Championships in Tasmania. He won the Under 11 Boys National Championship without dropping a game and then competed in the Under 13 Teams Event where he won all of his matches playing in the number two position for the Victorian State team.
One of the highlights was a dramatic comeback victory against NSW, where Freddie recovered from 10-5 down in the deciding game to win 12-10 and secure the match for Victoria. A huge congratulations to Freddie!

Over the last few weeks we have been learning and revising over the skills and rules for some of our summer interschool sports. Being able to have exposure to the different sports, even at a Foundation level, will help our students dramatically when it is their turn to represent BRPS in the interschool sport competition.
In weeks 1-3, we have been learning the sport of Oztag which is a hybrid game combining the features of rugby league, rugby union and also touch rugby.
In weeks 4 and 5, we have been lucky enough to have Jennifer McDonald from the SETA program at Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club to come in and teach students from F-4 the basics of tennis. If your child enjoyed the sessions, every student from F-4 has been offered a free trial session. please register your interest with the following link - https://www.setacademy.com.au/
