It's been a busy and creative start to Term 4 in the Visual Arts room, with students exploring a range of materials, techniques and printmaking processes.
Foundation students explored butterfly oil pastel printing before getting into the Halloween spirit with colourful pumpkin artworks, experimenting with paint, collage and texture.

Year 1 students created oil pastel prints before designing spooky spiders using cardboard, wool, plasticine and other decorative materials.

Year 2 students experimented with oil pastel printmaking before moving into Halloween-inspired artworks, including 3D black cats and smoky witch cauldrons.

Year 3 students explored colour, shape and pattern through vibrant crocodile artworks. They used triangle-shaped sponges to stamp patterns before adding details with paint markers. They also created colourful Halloween pumpkin designs.

Year 4 students investigated the work of Damien Hirst, creating detailed skull drawings inspired by his artwork. They then explored painting techniques through dramatic 3D bat artworks.

Year 5 students explored the work of contemporary artist Neon Skulls, using bold colours, patterns and imaginative designs as inspiration for their own artworks. They are now exploring botanical printmaking, experimenting with natural forms, textures and patterns to create unique artworks inspired by nature.

Year 6 students began their much-anticipated Legacy Skateboard project, planning and developing designs that will become a lasting reminder of their final year at Black Rock Primary School.

It's been wonderful to see students experimenting with new techniques and bringing their creative ideas to life.
