From the School Leadership Team

Sports Day

Thank you so much to all of our school families who were able to join us for Sports Day last Friday. The students looked amazing in their house colours and did a fantastic job of competing in a positive and encouraging spirit all day. We are thankful for Mr Trezona and our staff team for all of their efforts in putting together a highly successful day. It was a blessing to see the students enjoying themselves so much as they engaged with all of the activities. Thank you also to Golden Grove Lutheran Church for their support with the cake stall and café, our P & F committee for the barbecue and drinks, and LJ Hooker for the coffee van.

Year 5 Celebration of Learning

Well done to Year 5 on a fantastic Celebration of Learning on Thursday evening. The students have done an amazing job with their research, presentations and projects.

Year 6 Exhibition

We are looking forward to the Year 6 Exhibition next Tuesday evening. Exhibition represents the culmination of students' learning during their time in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, and we are excited by all of the learning the students have prepared to present.

Master Plan Community Consultation

Our master plan for our buildings and facilities over the next 10 years is progressing beautifully in partnership with our architect, Craig Vale of Arkvale Architects. Craig will be at school on Monday 21 September and available to meet with parents and families to share the draft master plan between 2.00pm and 4.00pm in the staffroom, to seek feedback from our community before it is refined and the final version is approved by our School Board later in the year.

Early Learning Centre Update

We are progressing works on the Early Learning Centre, with the development application having been approved by Tea Tree Gully Council. As the first stage of this, 1/2AK will move into the current classroom being used for the Wellbeing Room at the start of Term 4, and the Wellbeing Room will temporarily relocate to the breakout space next to 1/2HB. This will enable the classroom behind the current GGOSH space, and the 1/2AK classroom, to be refitted over the remainder of the year for GGOSH to relocate into early next year. That will then enable the current GGOSH space to be refitted for the ELC. At this stage we are working towards opening the new ELC in mid 2027.

Special Persons Afternoon

We're looking forward to our Special Persons Afternoon on Friday 18 September.

  • 1.15pm – 2.00pm: Concert in the Worship Centre
  • 2.00pm – 2.25pm: A–M visit classrooms
  • 2.30pm – 2.55pm: N–Z visit classrooms

Afternoon tea is available in the courtyard from 2.00pm – 2.55pm.

Children's University

Thank you to the students who have brought in their passports this week to finalise their hours for Children's University this year. Information has been sent home to families of students who are graduating from the programme this year.

Looking Ahead

Next week promises to be an exciting final week of term, with Year 1 and 2 enjoying their sleepover. We will also hold our closing service at 8.50am next Friday morning.

LLL - Charitable Donations Program

We're thrilled to partner with LLL Australia to bring you a meaningful way to support our school through their Charitable Donation Program.

Your generosity in making a deposit with  the LLL through a Charitable Facility Account which will assist us in upgrading our Foundation playground.

The funds you hold in your Facility will generate notional amounts of interest that is retained by LLL who will make a regular allocation to us to further our project, while your original investment remains completely untouched.

Our partnership with LLL Australia makes it simple and secure by:

  1. Opening a new LLL Charitable Facility.
  2. Nominating Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School as the preferred beneficiary of the interest your facility will forgo.

That's it! You can rest easy knowing your money is making a meaningful difference in our community—all with zero fees or charges to you.

If you would like to know more, please contact Tanya Rowland, our Business Manager.
