News from the School Leaders

This week, we are introducing a page in our newsletter that will be compiled by our Vice School Captains Luka and Shae. Luka and Shae will be celebrating the many achievements of our students and reporting on importance events and activities around the school.
Skylar competed in the National Soccer Competition at Ballarat. She played five games and her team won them all. Well done, Skylar.

The Beaufort Crows U13B Netball team played Creswick at Beaufort last week. The score was 16-6. Beaufort won. The Beaufort Crows U12s footy team sadly lost to Creswick, 1-33.
William in Year 2 takes part in Scouts and had an experience with an animal caretaker and had the opportunity to see a baby kangaroo.
Some students from Foundation, and the Year 1/2 classes have been doing Auskick and Net Set Go to sharpen their sporting skills and hopefully one day play for Beaufort and our school!
Recently, our Year 5/6s took part in a Basketball Tournament. We took three teams: 1 girls team, two boys teams, an A and a B team team. Although the girls team and the boys played well they both lost all of their games. The B team won 2 out of three. Well done to everyone who took part.
Writing Extension
Two weeks ago, a group of students were selected to take part in a writing workshop day where the students could meet an author and learn how to write like an author, and even learn how the author plans a story. Below is a snippet of some of the work completed by some students. I hope you enjoy their wonderful writing.
(This was the prompt we had to use: There is a goat on my desk.)
Story 1 By Jaxon
When I got to school this morning there was a goat sitting at my desk. As I yelled at him to leave, he charged at me with his piercing horns. Then we suddenly teleported to a boxing ring, the reward? My desk. Everyone was cheering as the goat fought and I fought. The battle went on for hours and hours with the goat even breaking one of his horns. I yelled at him, “Why were you at my desk in the first place?!” The goat, enraged by the message, did one last charge hoping to end it once and for all! In the goat language he yelled “This is my desk and it will be mine forever MUAHAHAHA!”
As he charged I remembered something, I had some leftover snack from recess, I pulled it out to try to lure it out and I did...
Story 2 Luka
When I got to school this morning, there was a goat sitting at my desk.
“Whatcha doin the-e-ere?”the goat asked. I wanted to tell him to move, but it isn’t every day you see a talking goat, at your desk, wearing… wait is that a tie?! It had patchy fur, his horns curled in perfect spirals and a small yellow and navy tie hung neatly around his neck, paired with glasses framing his tired blue eyes. No one seemed to really care about the talking goat in my desk, wearing a tie. Perhaps he just came every Tuesday or was he officially enrolled in school. “You sittin’ here partner?” the goat asked inquisitively.
Story 3 Shae
When I got to school this morning there was a goat sitting at my desk and everyone thought it was me. They were calling it my name and my friends were chatting to the goat about their weekends. They all thought it was me, I tried speaking to everybody but no one could hear me. It was like being dead or being invisible, then it finally hit me ... Yesterday I had gone to Kmart and an old man with a scruffy beard was following me. All my memories went blank. I realised something. Something cold, something terrifying, I got goose bumps and without thinking I screamed at the top of my lungs.
Part of the writing day, we headed outside to get some inspiration from nature
