SOUNDS ON THE GROUNDS AND MUSIC CLUB - EAST CAMPUS
Well done and congratulations to Ruma Lee (Year 9),Benjamin Nguyen (Year 9),Lexuan Ding (Year 9) and Tristan Tan (Year 9) for performing at ‘Sounds on the grounds’ on Friday 30 May. The set was well received by the large audience they had pulled in. Playing popular songs like APT by Bruno Mars and Rose, Bad romance by Lady Gaga and Stay with me by Miki Matsubara.
Special guest appearance by Mr Dmitry Serebrianik on trumpet set the vibe for the performance. Well done to the boys for showcasing their skilful musical talents.
A special mention to Addison Rood (Year 8) and Emma Saffer (Year 8) for stepping up and performing for ‘Reconciliation week’. With little preparation time they sang two acoustic pieces. Riptide by Vance Joy and Atlantis by Seafret (supported by Mr Browne on acoustic Guitar). Both songs were performed with confidence and the crowd responded with a thunderous applause and cheers of appreciation.

BREATHWORK FINAL PERFORMANCE
The Unit 1 VCE Music class have been working through a Monash University funded Breath Circle Mindful Music Program this term, that is tailored towards young performers. At the conclusion of the program, the participating students undertook a final performance with a group of six visiting musicians on Wednesday 25 June, in the Theatre during Periods 5 and 6.
This concert blended live music with guided breathing techniques to support mindfulness and emotional regulation through original compositions that have been created to support meditation and calm. The music was accompanied by guided breathing led by Beata Heymann that was designed to help regulate the nervous system and support a relaxed state.
It was wonderful to see a warm and receptive audience embrace this opportunity to take a moment to stop and breathe. Thank you to Patty Etcell and Leah Humphrey who worked with the visiting team to help facilitate this fantastic opportunity.
