GREAT NEWS!!!

Before the end of Term 2, 17 of our brave, resilient, and unstoppable learners proudly took part in the Indonesian Speaking Competition.

The competition challenged participants to demonstrate their Indonesian language skills by answering questions, singing Indonesian songs, and reciting Indonesian poems. They were assessed on their pronunciation, accuracy, relevance, and intonation.

Without a doubt, our incredible GRPS representatives absolutely smashed the competition! Their confidence, determination, and enthusiasm were truly inspiring to see. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them! Hebat sekali!

Over the past two weeks, our Prep learners have been exploring the different names of fruits in Indonesian. We have reinforced their learning through watching and singing Indonesian fruit songs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kndhedz_94&list=RD8kndhedz_94&start_radio=1), as well as participating in fun listening games.

We have also continued to expand our Indonesian vocabulary and are now learning words up to the letter ‘L’. Well done to all our Prep learners for their wonderful effort and enthusiasm!

It is amazing and truly an honour to see our language warriors not only reinforcing their English language skills, but also refining and enhancing their Indonesian and Chinese Mandarin.

Over the past two weeks, we have been exploring the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals, with a focus on learning the names of these animals in Indonesian. It has been wonderful to see so many of our learners being adventurous and willing to step outside their comfort zones by having a go at writing and pronouncing the animal names in Chinese Mandarin.

A big shoutout to the majority of our learners for their enthusiasm, courage, and willingness to try something new! Bagus sekali, anak-anak!

As Indonesian Independence Day is just around the corner, our fabulous Grade 2–6 learners have been working hard to create their very own Indonesian posters based on the theme ‘Indonesia Raya’ (Great Indonesia).

After researching popular places to visit, exciting activities to experience, and unique buildings and structures across Indonesia, our learners came up with wonderful ideas and created insightful posters showcasing what makes Indonesia truly great.

Well done to all our Grade 2–6 learners for their creativity, effort, and passion in acquiring another language.
