Body Safety Webinar

As we prepare for our upcoming Swimming Program, commencing Monday 31 August, we wanted to share a valuable opportunity for families to learn more about body safety, personal boundaries and consent.

During our two-week Swimming Program, students will be learning and practising important skills around caring for their bodies, respecting personal space and privacy, looking after their belongings, and understanding appropriate boundaries. These are important conversations that we can continue to build on at home.

While this webinar takes place after our Swimming Program has finished, we believe it is a great opportunity to continue these conversations with your child and help them apply what they have been learning to everyday situations.

Maroondah City Council is offering a free Body Safety and Consent Webinar for parents and carers of children aged 1–10 years. The webinar is designed to provide families with the knowledge, confidence and practical strategies to talk about body safety and consent in an age-appropriate and meaningful way.

In this session, you will:

  • Learn the 10 essential body safety skills.
  • Explore how to respond safely and appropriately if a child tells you something is wrong.
  • Discover practical strategies for embedding body safety education into everyday routines.
  • Access evidence-informed resources to support safe and empowering environments for children.
