2026 ART FESTIVAL - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
At last Friday's assembly, our Art Captains made the exciting announcement that the theme for this year's Art Festival is WILD ABOUT ART!
Taking place on Thursday 15th October (Term 4, Week 2), this much-loved event is a highlight of the 2026 school calendar. It brings our school community together for an afternnon of fun, food, fundraising and fantastic art.
We encourage everyone to get involved and there are already a few ways you can help:
- Design a poster! Our Art Captains are running a competition for students to design a poster advertising this year's Art Festival. If your child would like to enter, information packs and entry forms are available from the Art Room. Entries close on Thursday 20th August, so get those creative ideas flowing.
- Volunteer your time. A letter was recently sent to all families via Compass outlining some of the details of the Festival along with ways you can volunteer and help make this fundraising event a success. Please check your emails if you haven't had a chance to read it yet.
- Stay tuned! Keep an eye on future newsletters for more information, updates and ways to get involved as we get closer to the big day.
WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON IN THE ART ROOM?
All year levels are working hard to create some fantastic artwork to showcase at the Art Festival. There is lots happening behind the scenes as we prepare for what promises to be a wonderful celebration of our students' creativity.
Grade 3s are working on an exciting collaborative artwork and we are looking for donations of brightly coloured wool If you have any wool at home that is no longer needed and would like to donate it, we would be very grateful. Simply drop it into the Art Room at your convenience.
We are also always on the lookout for old newspapers. Newspapers are a wonderful, versativle materials for creating art and are also very useful for protecting our Art Room tables from the rigours of busy art lessons. If you have a stash at home that you no longer need, donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Art Room and for helping us make this year's WILD ABOUT ART FESTIVAL a fantastic community event.
