Mathematics Competition
Congratulations to the 29 students from our school participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition on 6 August! This prestigious competition encourages students from all over Australia to think critically and creatively while tackling challenging mathematical problems. We are so proud of their efforts to step up and represent our school in such a renowned event.
Thank you to our mathematics teachers for inspiring and supporting our students, and congratulations to everyone who took part!
Year 6 Transition
On August 4th and 18th, our Year 6 transition students had the opportunity to visit Tenterfield High School. The students were organised into three groups, each participating in a variety of engaging activities.
Thus far, students have thoroughly enjoyed:
- Science activities with Mr Clay and Mr Douglas
- Cooking sessions in the kitchen with Mrs Cooper
- Art and photography with Mr Caisley
Woodworking with Mr Sproule
These successful days were made possible by the outstanding organisation of Mrs Koch and the dedicated support of our exceptional teachers. We also had student volunteers assisting the teachers in each lesson. A special thank you is extended to the canteen staff for arranging meal deal specials.
The final transition date for this term is September 1st. On that evening, we will host an informative session for Year 5 and 6 families whose students will be transitioning to high school in the coming years. We warmly encourage as many families as possible to attend!
On the Mic with Mike
THS proudly supports the Mike Harris Show on Ten FM by conducting catch-up interviews every two weeks. To launch this segment, Ms Scott, along with our school captains, Ava and Jahmal, discussed the latest happenings.
Supporter's BBQ
On 30 July, we welcomed Millrace and Haddington, along with producers and supporters of Tenterfield High School, for a delightful BBQ. Our guests had the opportunity to observe the cattle before they head off to the Brisbane Ekka! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us to show their support.
First Aid
On 29 July, our seniors took part in a comprehensive Senior First Aid course!
This valuable training was made possible thanks to generous funding from the Educational Pathways Program. We're proud to empower our seniors with essential life-saving skills and enhance their confidence in emergency situations.
Commendation
It is always gratifying to receive positive feedback regarding our students' representation of the school. Congratulations to Jimmy, Alex, Eric, Tayah, Pippa, Phillippa, and Elly for their commendable contributions at the Zone Athletics Carnival last Friday.
We felt it was important to share this commendation from Red Range Public School!
Donation
Kudos to Roxy and Ruth's lunchtime knitting group for their fantastic efforts! They created 18 beanies, 3 blankets, and 2 scarves to donate to Millrace. Ms Petty has extended an invitation for the students to visit next term and share some knitting time with the residents!
