Tenterfield High School Shines at Brisbane Ekka

Earlier this month, Tenterfield High School proudly represented at the Brisbane Ekka, showcasing our dedication and skill in agricultural competitions. Despite being a small school, our students achieved impressive results that reflect their hard work and passion.

We were thrilled to secure second place in the Junior Led Heifer class. Notably, a South Devon x Limousin heifer, bred by Jennifer Smith, earned second place in the Middle Weight Junior Heifer competition. Our junior school judging team — Phillippa, Laura, and Zac — received a highly commended award, highlighting their knowledge and teamwork.

Additionally, one of our Limousin Angus cross steers placed sixth in the Open Steer Middle Weight class, a commendable achievement on such a competitive stage.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Mr Jones, Ms Parker, Mr Pitkin, Mr Clay, and of course, our dedicated students and their families, whose support is vital to the success of our agriculture program. Once again, Tenterfield High School has demonstrated the strength and spirit of our rural community on a prominent platform.
