Year 7

A strong start for Year 7
The Year 7s have settled well into secondary school. Nerves are disappearing and our eager young people are coming out of their shells, connecting with each other and getting to know how we are at Melton Secondary College. They are beginning to master routines around using lockers, lining up outside their classrooms, and setting up Cornell notes in their workbooks. In our whole school assembly, the Year 7 cohort were officially welcomed into the school community as they received their Class of 2031 badges, took class photos and walked through a guard of honour.
This week, Year 7 have participated in Project Rockit workshops, learning about standing up to bullying and seeking help. Students were highly engaged, cheering each other on as individuals bravely spoke in front of the whole group, and eagerly contributing to important discussions about belonging, bullying and supporting their peers.
