Book Week Parade
Author Visit - Penny O'Loughlin
Author Penny O'Loughlin visited OLGC on Thursday 21st August to share about her writing journey and the books she has written and is in the process of writing. She had sessions with the P-2 students where she read her books and discussed the themes, characters and messages of the stories. Her books are 'Bud and Buzz', 'Winding Down' and 'Cartwheeling Sally and Jumping Jack Jim'.
Penny kindly donated a copy of each of her books to our school library for our students to explore and enjoy.

Inspired by her wild-hearted sons, she writes about messy magic, brave connections, and bending reality. Published books include Winding Down, Bud and Buzz, Cartwheeling Sally and Jumping Jack Jim.
Illustrator Visit - Karen Erasmus
On Friday Karen Erasmus visited OLGC and explained the role of the illustrator in children's books. Karen has illustrated over 20 books. She has worked with a broad range of Australian and international publishers and authors on books such as Ten Little Platypuses, Eva’s Imagination, and Wombat Poos Are Square. Karen loves inspiring and encouraging young readers through engaging illustrations. When she isn’t drawing and painting Karen enjoys cycling, walking her dogs and crocheting. She enjoys being inspired by the quirkiness of Australian wildlife.
