In Foundation, the students contributed to our whole school collaborative artwork inspired by street artist ThankYouX. The students decorated their cube sections with images and symbols that represent who they are. Also, the students are diving into colour theory by learning about the colour wheel. Students explored primary and secondary colours, warm and cool tones, and how colours can be mixed and blended. They then applied their learning by creating vibrant and expressive artworks using both oil and soft pastels.
In Year 1/2, students took part in our whole school collaborative art project inspired by the colourful and bold style of street artist ThankYouX. Each student decorated a cube section with drawings and symbols that reflect their identity, interests, and personality. Also, students contributed to a special Book Week collaborative artwork that celebrates the 2025 theme, "Book an Adventure." Each child completed a section of the larger piece, working together to bring the design to life with bold colour and creativity. They applied their knowledge of colour theory by using oil and soft pastels to add vibrant, expressive detail to their sections.
In Year 3/4, students participated in our whole school collaborative art project, inspired by the bold and colourful work of street artist ThankYouX. Each student contributed by designing a cube section with drawings and symbols that reflect their identity, interests, and individuality. Also, students were introduced to the work of American artist Georgia O’Keeffe, known for her striking paintings of nature, particularly flowers and desert landscapes. Inspired by her style, students observed real flowers closely and used oil and soft pastels to create their own large-scale floral artworks, focusing on detail, colour blending, and expressive composition.
Year 5/6, students took part in our whole school collaborative art project inspired by the bold and vibrant style of street artist ThankYouX. Each student designed a cube section filled with drawings and symbols that represent their identity. Also, students were introduced to the work of American artist Georgia O’Keeffe, with a focus on her unique painting “The Lawrence Tree.” They analysed and discussed the composition and perspective used in the artwork, exploring how viewpoint can impact the way we experience nature in art. Students sketched their own imaginative tree from a creative perspective and brought it to life using chalk pastel techniques. They were encouraged to experiment with colour choice and blending to create vibrant, expressive trees that reflect their own artistic voice.
