Lucy Shines at the 2025 Chemist Warehouse Australian Athletics All Schools Championships

Congratulations to Lucy M in Year 10 who represented Team Victoria on Saturday, 6th December at the 2025 Australian Athletics All Schools Championships. Lucy participated in her event, the Female U16 Javelin competition in variable conditions, with gusty winds and scattered on-off showers throughout the afternoon. In front of an assembled crowd from all over Australia and with Australian sprinting superstar Gout Gout in attendance, Lucy came 4th in the Javelin, throwing 38.71m, a huge improvement on her performance in last year’s Championships where she came 8th with a throw of 33.09. Lucy has made an impressive performance here, representing Team Victoria and Patterson River Secondary College at the national level in her sport.

It has been a big year for Lucy, who also played in the School Sport Australia Championships 2025 as a member of Team Victoria for the 15 Years & Under Girls AFL Football team that won the national championship in 2025, defeating Queensland by just one point (33 – 32) in a thrilling Grand Final at the School Sport Australia Championships in Moreton Bay in August. Lucy was recognized for her skill, solid fundamentals and speed, contributing to the team's dominant performance.  The team came home with a trophy and gold medals for their achievements.

Congratulations Lucy on these amazing achievements. The College community is extremely proud of your achievements in both sports throughout the year.
