Interschool Sport

School sport returned early in Term 1 and the participation, performances and results have been extremely positive already! Cricket, Volleyball and Tennis are the sport choices in Term 1.

Cricket

It was a convincing win to the Year 9/10 girls cricket team in their T20 match against Preston. A dominant display with the bat by Piper Heathcote (86*) and Amelia Speairs (38*) saw the team amass a huge total. This was then defended well with the ball, with the wickets shared amongst the bowlers.

This meant the Y9/10 girls cricket team progressed a fortnight later to the North Metro Region (NMR) finals. Round 1 was a thrilling contest, with our opponents Greensborough winning the game with a run on the final ball of the match. Not to be deterred, our team bounced back quickly for a big 44 run win against Coburg in the second game. Special mention to our captain Amelia who was a not out batter in all three of our matches across Division and Region games, scoring 26* and 47* at the NMR finals.

Tennis

The Year 11/12 boys tennis team took to the court in perfect weather conditions at Oak Park Tennis Club. The team played three rounds and performed extremely well winning 17 out of their 18 sets played! The level of tennis was exceptional, with dominance across the singles matches and the doubles pairings combining effectively. Next up is the NMR finals to be held at the Craigeburn Tennis Club on March 19.
