Creative Generation State Schools On Stage 2026
Last week, more than 2000 state school students from all over Queensland came together at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre for Creative Generation State Schools Onstage (CGEN) 2026. Since it began in 2005 with just 550 students, CGEN has grown into Queensland’s largest youth performing arts program, with participants from 180 schools, including seven special schools, taking part this year. This program gives students the chance to work with some of Australia’s leading performers and industry professionals, helping them build skills, confidence, and connections that will stay with them for life. For many, it is a stepping stone to future success, but for all, it is an experience they will never forget.
We were thrilled to have 3 of our very talented students featured in the CGen performance this year - Genevieve Krause as a featured dancer; Issak Judd playing trumpet in the Symphony Orchestra and the James Morrison Big Band and Jefferson Dinnis playing trombone in the Symphony Orchestra and James Morrison Big Band.
All three students had featured moments on stage where they displayed their incredible musicianship and artistry - we are very proud of them for their dedication, hard work and willingness to represent our fantastic school and Arts department at such a high level.
State Honours Ensemble Program
SHEP South East Queensland 2026
Over the June-July holidays we had 6 students represent the school at SHEP - State Honours Ensemble Program South East Queensland. Coming together with other outstanding musicians from around this corner of the state, our students participated in two days of rehearsal and then a concert the Queensland Conservatorium of Music from 9-11 July. Congratulations to:
Ben Lynch (Tuba); Toby McDonald (Cello); Rohan Prentice (Bass Guitar); Piper Raffelt (Viola); Lucas Sell (Cello) and Aiden Williams (Double Bass) on being selected for this prestigious ensemble program. Thank you for representing the school at such a high level.
