Lunch & Learn Inspires Future Engineers

More than 50 students attended our recent Lunch & Learn: Discover a Future in Engineering session, held in the Auditorium on Wednesday, where they enjoyed a light lunch while hearing from two experienced engineering professionals.

Students were inspired by The Gap State High School alumnus Luke Stalley, Senior Principal Civil and Environmental Engineer, who shared his journey from high school to working on major infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally. 

Joining him was Amelia North, a senior engineering professional and parent from our school community, who generously volunteered her time to speak about her career delivering large-scale transport and infrastructure projects.

Throughout the session, students discovered that engineering is far more diverse than many people realise. From bridges and airports to digital technologies, renewable energy and transport systems, our speakers highlighted the wide range of career pathways available and the many opportunities to combine creativity, innovation and problem-solving to make a real difference.

The engaging presentations, real-world stories and student questions made for an informative and inspiring session, leaving many students with a greater appreciation of the exciting possibilities a future in engineering can offer.
