Principals Message

Our Stage 6 students are completing their trial HSC exams at the Race Club. These trials mark the final assessment for our Year 12 students before they commence their official HSC exams on October 13. We are very grateful to the Race Club for generously providing their facilities, which ensure our students have access to a quiet and comfortable space with minimal distractions. This support has been instrumental in allowing students to concentrate and do their best during this important period. We wish all our students the very best as they complete their trials and prepare for the HSC.

This week also marks a special occasion as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Stars Foundation program at Narrandera High School. The Stars program provides a holistic approach to supporting Indigenous girls and young women, with a focus on helping them stay engaged at school, successfully complete Year 12, and transition confidently into work or further study. We greatly value the presence of Stars at our school and thank Vivien Christian and Trinity McDuff for all their hard work and dedication to getting the program up and running. Thank you also to all the girls participating in the Stars program for their enthusiasm, commitment, and positive contribution to our school’s culture. This initiative continues to enrich our community and provide valuable opportunities for our students.

Our staff remain dedicated to ongoing improvement throughout the year. Work towards meeting the improvement measures in our School Excellence Plan (SEP) is continuing, with a particular focus on Strategic Direction 2: Teacher Professional Learning. Staff are engaging in professional development around explicit teaching practices—an evidence-based suite of teaching techniques proven to enhance learning outcomes. By continuing to develop skills in explicit teaching, our staff are better equipped to engage and support all students in all subjects and year groups. This dedication ensures that every student at Narrandera High School is receiving high-quality learning experiences.
