From the Wellbeing Hub

Kate Couchman

I’d love to start the year by expressing a warm welcome to our new students and families to the Monivae community. Welcome back to our existing students, we hope 2024 is a fabulous year for you all.

Wellbeing Hub Staffing

We are very lucky to have a fabulous Wellbeing Hub team at Monivae. We have the staff below available to assist with all kinds of wellbeing needs at school.

Kate Couchman - Director of Student Wellbeing (Monday-Friday) Full time

Belinda Carroll - Student Counsellor (Monday- Friday) Full time

Matthew Crane – College Social Worker (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

Natalie Templeton - Student Support Worker (Friday)

We are excited to welcome Natalie to our Wellbeing Hub team. Natalie is in the process of completing her Diploma of Professional Counselling and will be undertaking some student counselling observations, developing rapport with our students, and working directly with students, once she has had some time to settle in.

Students and carers can contact our team at: wellbeinghub@monivae.vic.edu.au with any queries or to discuss any wellbeing concerns.

Standing Tall in Hamilton: School Based Mentoring

Wow - What an amazing start to our Standing Tall program in 2024. We now have ten participants in our program, including five new Year 7 students right through to Year 10 students. Students meet with their community-based mentors each Wednesday lunchtime to engage in a range of fun activities.

The program is open to all students from Year 7-12 and we would love to have any new members join our Standing Tall crew!

More information on this fabulous program can be found at: https://www.standingtallhamilton.com.au/

SchoolTV

We have a subscription to SchoolTV for families to access free of charge. SchoolTV is a wellbeing resource that can support families with all of the challenges related to modern-day parenting.  There are a number of different topics to assist in starting conversations on topics that are sometimes awkward or difficult to tackle. I encourage all families to utilise this great resource.

We will be presenting a number of wellbeing topics in our newsletter pieces. We encourage families to be in touch with us at any time.
