Year 8 Girls Soccer
Earlier this month, our Year 8 girls' soccer team put in a fantastic effort, winning two matches before narrowly going down in the final game. Congratulations to the team on their strong performances and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day!
Year 7 Girls Soccer
Our MMCRC Year 7 girls soccer team headed to Trafalgar to compete at Regionals. The girls put together two brave performances against high-quality opponents. We ended up with two narrow losses, which was very impressive given that only two members of our team play outside of school. Congratulations girls!
Regional Netball
Mary MacKillop CRC had an impressive 5 teams competing at Regional netball in Traralgon today. We can proudly say that we now have 3 teams heading to State level!
The Year 7 boys, Senior boys and Senior girls, all went through the day undefeated. Each team looked dominant at times and can go to State with great confidence after today’s performances.
The Intermediate Girls had 1 win and 2 narrow losses, whilst the Year 7 Girls had 2 comfortable wins, before losing by 3 in their final game.
As always, our students competed hard and conducted themselves honourably throughout the day. Bring on States!!!
Jaxon Blackman - 8A
Jaxon recently represented the college at the SEZ School Students' Championship held in Frankston, competing against 85 other students. He scored 6/10 in the first round and 8/10 in the second, narrowly missing out on third place after a close shoot-off, losing by just one shot.
Lacy Fennell - 9C
Lacy proudly represented Team Vic at the SSV Netball National Championships in Brisbane. After winning 6 of their 7 fixture games, Team Vic finished 2nd on the ladder. In the semi-final against NSW (2nd vs 3rd), they came away with a 2-goal win, advancing to the Grand Final against a very strong SA team. Despite a hard-fought match, they went down 41–25 – but came home with silver medals and unforgettable memories!
Intermediate Boys Soccer
Our devoted Intermediate Boys Soccer team came in to school on their day off to represent MMCRC at regionals. After an early win and draw, it all came down to the final game against Lavalla. We scored early and then held on to win1-0. The boys now head to states on the 2nd of September.
This is an amazing achievement by a seriously talented team. Congratulations boys!
Year 7 Basketball
Our Year 7 boys and girls basketball teams recently competed in Korumburra with great determination and team spirit. The boys had a strong showing, winning two of their three games and narrowly falling to the eventual champions. The girls progressed to the grand final after several impressive wins, finishing as runners-up on the day. A big thank you to our dedicated Year 11 coaches for their hard work and support throughout the past two terms.
