Inspiring Young People Lunch at Leongatha RSL on 19 August 2025
Seven of our Year 11 students recently had the opportunity to attend the Inspiring Young People lunch, where they connected with local professionals from a variety of career pathways. Students asked questions, explored different journeys into the workforce, and gained valuable insights into leadership.
The keynote speaker, Jessica from The Makeup Hub in Warragul, shared her story of resilience and reminded students that it is okay not to have everything figured out just yet. She encouraged them to step forward for opportunities that genuinely interest them, whether in leadership or other areas, and to do so for themselves, not just because it seems “cool.”
A shared lunch and dessert were enjoyed by students, teachers, mentors, and LLEN staff. It was an inspiring event that left our students motivated to keep exploring their own unique pathways and consider opportunities for leadership going into their final year of secondary school.
Thank you to the Mentors on the day including representatives from:
Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, Gippsland Southern Health Service, South Gippsland Water, MSC Building Group, South Gippsland Shire Council, Jessica Greaves Graphic Design, Drift Media (Drone Pilot and Digital Producer), Headspace, The Makeup Hub, Cooks Hill Views Property Development, Christie Nelson Real Estate, Watersure, Country University Centre Wonthaggi, Gippsland Power and The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action Victoria.
Staff: Ms Cassie Raschle, Mr Peter Preston
Left to Right - Ms Cassie Raschle, Neon Jijo Cherian, Nathan Wright, Henri Bott, Gabby Davidson, Niya Manavalan, Audrey Vernon, and Rosie Witterveen
We would like to again thank Leah and Nicole from South Gippsland Bass Coast LLEN for organising another fabulous lunch for our aspiring young leaders.
