ACTING PRINCIPAL REPORT

Dear BSC Community,

Last Thursday evening we had our Presentation evening, and it was with immense pride and joy that we celebrated the achievements and talents of our remarkable students.

The presentation evening was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that our students displayed throughout the year.

I would like to thank all of the families and teachers for attending this wonderful night, along with our esteemed guests Mr Asaf Harel, (BSC College Council President),  Mr Anthony Langley ( Vice President, The Rotary Club of Brighton), Mr Ryan Batchelor ( MP Labor of SM region), Mr James Newbury ( MP Member for Brighton), Ms Zoe Daniel ( MP Independent Federal Member for Goldstein) who were all in attendance and for their continued support of Brighton Secondary College.

Over the last two weeks our students had the opportunity to apply for 2024 student leadership positions, and I had the honour to be part of some the panel selection interviews. I was so impressed to hear our students wanting to contribute to building a strong and connected school community, and the role they want to take to shape the future of the school to foster a strong sense of togetherness amount their student body. Next year will be an exciting time for the students as change can bring fresh perspectives and new opportunities for growth. I look forward to seeing the 2024 student leadership team in action!

This Thursday we began our ‘Commencement’ timetable that will run to Friday 15th Dec. The Commencement program gives students the opportunity to meet new friends, try new subjects and interact with different teachers. Implementing a new timetable for ‘Commencement’ has involved careful planning and coordination, and we look forward to seeing our students thrive and develop their personal growth over the next two weeks.

Thank you for your continued involvement in our school community.
