Reunion Class of 1985

This evening, we welcome back to Mazenod College, our Old Boys from the Class of 1985! We look forward to catching up with them and sharing in their memories from their old school days, as well as in their stories and experiences of life after their time at Mazenod.

Requiem Mass for our deceased Old Boys

Last Friday evening, we had a beautiful evening as we held our annual Requiem Mass for our deceased Old Boys. Certainly, this is the most significant event that MOCA hosts each year. We sincerely thank our Rector, Fr Harry Dyer OMI and our Chaplain, Fr Dominic Rozario OMI for celebrating this Mass. As always, our Mass was very well attended. Many of our families and friends of our deceased Old Boys travel from distant areas to attend this Mass each year. Following the Mass, many of those who attended our Mass joined us for a light supper in our College Staffroom.

We sincerely thank our Old Boys’ families, friends, and members of MOCA and of the Mazenod College Community for joining us and praying with us at this Mass. We thank our very own bagpiper, MOCA President, Sean Sullivan, for his magnificent playing of the hymn, Amazing Grace! It was so beautiful! Also, we would like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Rosemary Sanna, who was our Mazenod College Receptionist for twenty-seven years for her involvement in our Requiem Masses every year. Ever since we began our Requiem Masses to pray for the Souls of our deceased Old Boys, Rosemary has always attended and has always very compassionately and generously assisted us with our supper after each of our Masses. We express our great thanks to Rosemary!

Mazenod Old Boy Seeking Fourth-Year Maintenance Plumbing Role

Hi Mazenod community,

My name is Jake. I’m a proud Old Boy and fourth year apprentice plumber currently looking to step into a maintenance plumbing role. I’m reaching out to see if any families, businesses, or connections within the Mazenod network are seeking a reliable, hardworking plumber with strong technical skills and a genuine passion for the trade.

Throughout my apprenticeship, I’ve taken every opportunity to grow, not just in hands-on plumbing, but in leadership and responsibility. I’ve stepped up on-site where needed, taking initiative and ownership of jobs, mentoring junior apprentices, and coordinating with other trades to deliver high quality workmanship to the best of my ability.

 Key strengths:

  • Copperworks, gas lines, renovations, civil works, rough in’s, drainage

  • leak detection, fixture installation, roof repairs, fire service installation

  • Strong understanding of plumbing codes and OH&S standards

  • Reliable, detail oriented, and confident working independently or in teams

I am currently doing my Plumbing and Mechanical Services Cert III (Holmesglen TAFE), as well as hold a current White Card, EWP license, and Working with Children’s Check.

If you know of any opportunities or would be happy to share this with someone who might, I’d be incredibly grateful. I’m ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to a team that values professionalism, safety, and growth.

Joshua Hall (MOC 2020) - Manager at McDonald’s Mt Waverley

It is not everyday that we send out a shout out to a McDonald’s Restaurant. However, this one deserves praise.

We have had the opportunities during our school holidays to witness the kindness of our Mazenod Old Boy, Joshua Hall (MOC 2020), and his staff (some of whom are Old Boys) in how they treat their customers. Not only is the restaurant very clean and tidy, but Josh’s compassion is evident in his dealings with all his customers.

We have observed firsthand Josh’s care and concern for everyone, including how he responds to the needs of those who have special needs, who are disabled, or who are elderly. In our modern world, it is so refreshing to witness the precious virtues of courtesy and respect.
