Vinnies Youth Corner

During Term 3 the Year 9 Humanities and Social Sciences classes covered a topic on Food security.  As part of Humanities and Social Sciences in action the students were asked to support people in our community that are food insecure.  A mini food drive was held to top up the ‘pantry’ at Kelmscott Vinnies.  The ‘pantry’ was almost empty, so Lumen’s donations were quite timely.

Thank you to the families who supported this drive demonstrating the Lumen ‘Light of Example”.  Your donations made an instant difference to those in our local community who are facing food insecurity.

This term: The Year 11s are currently undertaking a ‘gift’ drive for to add a little ‘joy’ to Christmas morning for families.  Each Year 11 homeroom has been allocated an age group of a child and a parent figure to work on donating a Christmas present hamper from their homeroom to them.

Year 7 – 10s will participate in the Christmas food drive later in the term.

Little gestures from many can make an amazing difference to those in our community needing support.
