From the Principal

Welcome to our New Year 7s
It is my pleasure to welcome students, families and staff to the 2026 school year. I hope the holiday break has allowed everyone to return refreshed and prepared for the year ahead. I extend a particular welcome to our new students and their families as they begin their journey with us.
The beginning of the school year is a good opportunity to reflect on the College’s Guiding Lights. These lights shape how we live, learn and relate to one another, and they hold particular relevance as we welcome our newest students into the community.
- The Light of Welcome calls on our community to open doors, offer guidance and share a friendly smile with our new Year 7s to make them feel at home.
- The Light of Excellence invites our Year 7 students to approach their new subjects and routines with purpose and a positive mindset.
- The Light of Creativity encourages our Year 7s to be bold and brave in exploring new ideas, challenges and friendships.
- The Light of Example reminds us all to model respectful behaviour, helping our newest students understand what it means to be part of Lumen Christi.
- And finally, the Light of Faith grounds all of us—new and returning—in compassion, reflection and a shared sense of purpose for the year ahead.
Together, these Guiding Lights create a positive environment for learning and ensure that our students experience a community that is both supportive and aspirational from the very beginning.

A Fresh, New Look
Members of our community may have noticed the refreshed College logo, flags and signage at our main entrances. These were updated during the holiday break, modernising our visual identity and bringing greater consistency to the way in which we communicate with the community. You will see new graphic and design elements gradually appearing in College and House communications throughout the term.
Catholic Schools Advisory Council (CSAC) and Parent Voice Annual Community Meeting (ACM)
I also remind families about the upcoming Catholic School Advisory Council and Parent Voice Annual Community Meeting (ACM), to be held in the Michael Devine Discovery Centre on Wednesday, 25 February at 6.30pm. This meeting is open to all, and your engagement is invited.
As we embark on the year ahead, may our community be guided by the Light of Christ, strengthened by purpose and united in our commitment to the growth and wellbeing of our students.
