Premier Ensembles Concert

The Premier Ensembles Concert held last Thursday was a wonderful celebration of the College’s top-performing groups and the remarkable musicianship they continue to display. Featuring Wind Orchestra 1, Symphony Orchestra, Big Band 1, Guitar Orchestra 1, Percussion Ensemble 1, Chamber Choir and Chamber Strings, the evening showcased an impressively high standard of performance. Despite a challenging few weeks of illness across the ensembles, the students rose to the occasion with exceptional resilience.

A highlight of the night was the presentation of Year 12 music badges, recognising the leadership, dedication and long-term commitment of our senior musicians, many of whom have contributed to the program for up to eight years. Their presence on stage was a testament to the strength and continuity of the College’s musical culture.

Warm thanks go to the music staff who directed or supported ensembles on the night: Catherine Wasserman, Alison Braidwood, Rory Dollard, Zac Moynihan, Andrew Butt, Melanie Stewart, Enrico Le Mura, Jamie Kennedy and Matthew Sorensen. Their guidance and expertise continue to elevate the program and inspire our young musicians.
