As Term 1 draws to a close, I want to commend our students for their hard work and dedication. Whether they have overcome significant hurdles, maintained steady progress, or reached a new personal milestone, their efforts deserve recognition.
As we move through the Lenten Season toward the April break, we are reminded of the hope that sits at the heart of our College’s faith. Hope is inherently forward-looking. Regardless of how the first term unfolded, I encourage every student to reflect on their resilience and commitment. This reflection is a vital tool, it helps them celebrate their growth while identifying the focus required to meet their goals in the coming months.
Year 10 Careers Testing
In their journey to senior years, Year 10 students at Brigidine undertake testing run by Academic Assessment Services (AAS). These assessments are diagnostic tools designed to map out a student’s cognitive profile, academic potential and professional inclinations.
AAS evaluations utilise a multi-dimensional approach to understand "the whole student."
Components assessed include:
Career Interest & Personality Profiling: Specialised assessments (often psychometric) that align a student’s personality traits and personal interests with specific industries or job roles.
Students in Year 10 will be entering a critical junction in their schooling where they must choose specific electives. AAS evaluations are utilised in making subject and HSC pathway recommendations.
Congratulations to all Year 10 students who have completed testing this Term.
Focusing on Year 12
As they prepare for their final semester, I urge Year 12 to maintain their momentum. While the upcoming break is essential for recharging, consistency is key. Maintaining the study habits and determination they've shown so far will serve them well in the lead-up to their final exams. Please see below for some helpful links:
Year 12 students are encouraged to ensure that they are familiar with the UAC dates so that no deadlines or opportunities are missed. Key dates are available here.
I wish all Brigidine families a restful, safe and happy holiday break.
