Student Leadership in Action ...

SRC SEMESTER ONE 2026
Welcome and congratulations to our SRC representative for Semester One 2026.
We have already started to have our SRC meetings, count the PBL (Positive behaviour for learning) tokens, fund raise, give reports to the community at assembly and run class meetings.
So what have you enjoyed about being an SRC representative so far?
Diego - I like counting the tokens and selling Zooper Doopers.
Jamie - I like counting the tokens and announcing the winner at assembly.
Aubrey - I enjoy counting the tokens and having the class meeting.
Issy - It has opened up ideas for things we can do around the school.
Oliver - I like being able to help people and selling the Zooper Doopers.

Year 6 Leaders- Term One in review
| EGAN House Leaders | Jonathan, Maddie, Mason & Ivy | This term, as the 2026 Egan House Leaders, we have been supporting our house and the school community in a number of ways. We recently worked with Egan students to teach the Twilight Sports dance in preparation for Twilight Sports Day. We have also been reminding students to collect any sports equipment from the oval after recess and lunch and return it to their classroom sports tubs. As some equipment has recently been lost over the fence, we are encouraging everyone to be mindful when playing and to help look after our sports equipment so it lasts for everyone to enjoy. |
| D'PRAZER House Leaders | Max, Jacob, Hannah & Oscar | This term, as the 2026 D’Prazer House Leaders, we have been busy supporting our school community. We helped Miss Boyce organise Cross Country, restocked the sports tubs and have been preparing a dance for the Twilight Sports Day which will take place at the beginning of Term 2. We have also been reminding students to look after our sports equipment and return items to the tubs after use so everyone can continue to enjoy using them. |
| STAUNTON House Leaders | Desi & Lucas | Hi everyone, and we are so excited to introduce ourselves as your 2026 Staunton House Leaders. We loved speaking at assembly and sharing our enthusiasm for Staunton House. We have been practising our Staunton dance and can’t wait to teach it to everyone. We know you are all going to do an amazing job! We also spoke about the importance of looking after our sports equipment. We understand that accidents can happen, but we ask everyone to be mindful and respectful, and to make sure equipment is used appropriately. We are really looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and seeing lots of Staunton spirit. Go Staunton! |
| School Captains | Tommy & Georgia | Hello, it’s us, your School Captains, Georgia and Tommy. We would like to share an update on what has been happening at school and some exciting events coming up. Recently, we celebrated Harmony Day, recognising and celebrating the diversity within our community. We also introduced our upcoming Pyjama Day, which will take place in Term 2 on May 1st, where we will be raising money for the Blackburn South branch of the St Vincent de Paul Society. Term 1 will conclude on Thursday, April 2nd with our creative Stations of the Cross, thoughtfully prepared by students across the school. This Monday, we will also hold our Easter Bonnet Parade, and we encourage everyone to get creative and start decorating their bonnets |
| ENVIRONMENT Leaders | Grayson, Natasha & Alessandro | We are your 2026 Environment Leaders: Alessandro, Natasha and Grayson. This year, we are working step by step to care for our school environment. We have already started Wrapper Free Wednesday, giving certificates to students who participate. With the help of Miss Chlebica during Gardening Club, we have planted some new plants and are looking forward to harvesting purple cauliflower and fresh carrots. We are also in the process of refurbishing our garden and have reached out to Bunnings for donations to help with supplies. We would love for you to join us and help plan and care for the garden beds. |
| ARTS & LIBRARY Leaders | Charlie, Rose & Ria | We are your 2026 Arts and Library Leaders: Ria, Rose and Charlie. This term, we have been decorating the library with signs to remind everyone of the behaviour expectations—look out for them and please follow the rules. After the holidays in Term 2, there will be an art competition. You will have at least three weeks, including the holidays, to create a painting, drawing, mosaic or any type of artwork. Entries will be judged on creativity, composition and skill, and will be collected at the start of Term 2. We also remind students to look after the equipment put outside the Discovery Centre between the pods on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at recess. And of course, remember to take care of the library and have fun reading! |
| FAITH & MISSION Leaders | Hudson & Stella | As the 2026 Faith & Mission Leaders, we have been working on ideas to support our school community. We are collaborating with the School Captains on a future Pyjama Day and a clothes and toy drive to donate to the Salvation Army. We also recognise a Star of the Week in assembly for students who demonstrate the Lukan theme, “We are Companions on the Journey”, showing kindness and support to others. These events are still in the planning stage, and we look forward to sharing more details soon. |
| TECHNOLOGY Leaders | AJ, Connor & Hamish | Hello, we are your 2026 Technology Leaders, Hamish, AJ and Connor. This term, we have been focusing on how we can support all students to use technology safely and responsibly. We are currently creating a slideshow to remind students how to stay safe online, which we are excited to share soon, and we have also helped organise the Year 6 students to support their buddies in learning how to use their iPads. We look forward to continuing to help everyone use technology in a safe and positive way thank you! |
