AFL Tommy Lahiff Cup

We've had a big couple of weeks of footy as our boys and girls AFL teams took part in the Tommy Lahiff Cup!
AFLW victory
On Friday 20 June, our AFLW team put on an unforgettable performance at the Tommy Lahiff Cup—facing fierce competition, showing resilience, and ultimately taking home the title once again.
In the round robin competition, we had a comfortable win against St Kilda Primary in game 1. Next up, Albert Park Primary blasted out a few quick goals getting ahead and we were unable to recover in game 2. With the grand final on the line in, game 3 was a now or never situation in a tight back and forth game against Middle Park Primary, with PMPS taking home the win to secure a spot in the Pool A Grand Final!
The Grand Final saw our girls come face to face with Albert Park for the second time that day, it’s safe to say there were plenty of nerves on the sidelines. With the 6 year winning streak on the line, the team came out firing, being sure to lock the ball in our forward line kicking goal after goal to win the cup, whilst the Albert Park forward line failed to register any score for the game.
It was a fantastic day out with the team displaying great growth throughout the competition and each player having many standout moments throughout the games.
Congratulations to Arlette, who was named MVP, and a big congratulations to the whole team!
AFL boys 3rd place
The Year 5/6 boys team battled through three tight pool games, winning one and losing two all by under 10 points! It was a day of ecstatic highs, heartbreaking lows, and everything in-between! They finished on a high, dominating their third-place playoff with a seven-goal win to end the day with a bang! Congratulations to Hugo, who was named MVP for Port Melbourne.
