NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is a national celebration that honours the culture, history, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It takes place during the first full week of July each year, from Sunday to Sunday. The name comes from the National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee — the group that began this tradition.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week. The theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates the resilience of past generations, the inspiration they provide, and the promise of the emerging leaders who will shape our future.
Students will be celebrating NAIDOC in class during Week 1 of Term 3, but below are some family-friendly activities you might like to get involved in over the school holidays. Find out more about local NAIDOC Week events.
