CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

This week, our school community comes together to celebrate Grandparents and Grandfriends Day. Grandparents and elders hold a truly unique and cherished place in our lives. They serve as a living bridge between the past, present, and future, anchoring our families with a rich sense of history, belonging, and identity.
In our Catholic tradition, grandparents play a pivotal role in passing down faith, wisdom, and core values. Through their quiet devotion, patience, and unconditional love, they teach us how to navigate life with grace and trust in God. Whether celebrating milestones, sharing stories, or offering gentle encouragement, our elders remind us daily of God’s enduring love.
On 26 July, the Church celebrated the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the earthly grandparents of Jesus.
Just as Saints Joachim and Anne nurtured Mary in faith and provided a loving foundation for the Holy Family, our own grandparents nurture us today. Their feast day is a beautiful reminder to celebrate, pray for, and give thanks to all our elders for their guidance and sacrifice.
We warmly invite all our grandparents, grandfriends, and family members to join us for our special liturgy:
When: Thursday 30 July at 9:30 am
Where: Holy Trinity School Hall
Following: After the liturgy, Morning Tea will be provided and then families are welcome to visit classrooms
Bonus: The Scholastic Book Fair will be set up in the library for families wishing to make purchases (Eftpos available)
We look forward to celebrating this special occasion together as a community!
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for the gift of our grandparents and grandfriends, whose love, wisdom, and faith enrich our lives.
Through the intercession of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus, we ask you to bless all our elders. Keep them safe in Your care, fill them with joy, and grant eternal rest to those who are with You in heaven.
Help us to treasure their wisdom and walk in their faithful footsteps.
Saints Joachim and Anne, pray for us.
Amen.
