Year 3/4 News

This term in our classroom, students have been actively engaged in developing their skills across all learning areas.

Reading

We have been learning to identify modal verbs in both spoken and written texts. Students are building their understanding of how words like can, must, might, and should help express possibility, ability, and obligation.

Writing

Students are exploring persuasive techniques used in advertisements. They are learning how language, images, and design features work together to influence an audience, and are beginning to apply these techniques in their own writing.

Mathematics

We are focusing on fractions in Mathematics. Students are learning to recognise and represent fractions as equal parts of a whole, and to place them accurately on a number line to deepen their understanding of their size and order.

We also recently attended the World of Maths incursion, where students participated in a range of engaging, hands-on mathematical activities. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to apply their problem-solving skills in a fun and interactive environment.

It has been wonderful to see students growing in confidence and curiosity across all learning areas!
