Hello to all Clayton North Primary families and friends,

We are now more than half-way through the term and quickly approaching the mid-point of the year! We are coming into the colder months of the year so please make sure that you keep warm and look after your health over these upcoming weeks leading into holidays.

Education Week

Last week, we celebrated Education Week at CNPS, with students participating in a variety of activities that showcased who we are as a school community. These activities included creating our beautiful display of flags representing the countries of birth and family heritage of our students and families.

Our Student Representative Council (SRC) members also did a wonderful job speaking at assembly and sharing what they or their class felt proud of about our school. Thank you to the families who were able to visit classrooms on Thursday afternoon and spend time engaging in their child’s learning.

A special thank you to Hourig and Leannder for leading the planning of this celebration, and to our classroom teachers for their efforts in supporting them.

Walk Safely to School Day

What a fun way to end Education Week by being physically active! Thank you to our families for supporting the Walk Safely to School Day. It was lovely to see so many children wearing their stickers or tattoos to school on Friday 22nd May and taking pride in being physically active or supporting this great initiative.

The Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS)

The Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) is an annual Department of Education survey that captures students’ attitudes to, and experiences at, government schools.

All government schools must participate in AtoSS, providing the opportunity for students from Year 4 to Year 12 to complete the survey. The survey provides data that helps the department understand student perspectives of their school and to improve the schooling experience.

Data collected includes how students feel in relation to their school, their learning, peer relationships, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general.

We will be conducting the AtoSS with our Year 4-6 students over the next two weeks.

Premiers Reading Challenge

We have 102 days remaining for students to complete the Premier's Reading Challenge. So far, as a school, we have read and verified 381 books — a great effort by everyone involved.

Thank you to the families who are supporting their children by reading at home and logging their books on the PRC portal. We would love to get to 600 books read as a school, so please support your children with their reading at home and logging their books. There is still plenty of time to get involved! If you require another copy of your child's login details, please contact the office.

School photos

Our 2026 school photos were held on Monday 18th May with plenty of smiles and happy faces. Our students looked wonderful in their uniforms and we thank our families for their support in ensuring children were dressed appropriately. All photos have been checked by classroom teachers and we are now waiting for photos to be printed and made available to families.
