Congratulations to Karlo Al J., Gold Winner at the Victorian WorldSkills Competition!
A huge congratulations to Karlo Al J., a Year 11 student, who earned the Gold medal at the recent WorldSkills Competition, achieving an impressive score of 96.25 out of 100. As a result, Karlo has been invited to represent Victoria in next year’s National Competition. This outstanding accomplishment reflects his hard work and commitment, and Karlo should be incredibly proud of his performance. Well done!
Karlo, who is currently pursuing his love of mechanics alongside his VCE studies, was chosen to compete in the WorldSkills Competition as part of a skilled group of VETDSS students. During the event, competitors showcased key skills in basic servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, racing against the clock to complete tasks both efficiently and safely while adhering to detailed instructions. Automotive experts evaluated each task based on industry-standard criteria, ensuring students gained valuable insights into best practices as they prepare for careers in the automotive industry. By enrolling in the Certificate II in Automotive Preparation (pre-apprenticeship) course as part of his VCE, Karlo is not only acquiring valuable skills and industry knowledge but also forging important industry connections, all while working towards his VCE and ATAR.
Highvale Secondary College wishes Karlo the best of luck at the National WorldSkills Competition in 2025!
