Grade 3 | Blackwood

During the last few weeks we have turned our hand to integrating our Literacy unit with Art. We have been looking at different textures and ways to create images using a range of materials. We really enjoyed creating a web using oil pastel and then overlaying our charcoal sketched spider images. We created spiders from paper plates and filled the legs with synonyms relating to Charlotte's web vocabulary words. 

Finally we experimented with creating mosaic images of Wilbur the Pig. We used small pieces of tissue paper screwed up into tight balls to create a raised 3D tactile effect. We are really enjoying engaging with Charlotte’s web and integrating it across the curriculum.
