Health & Physical Education

It has been an exciting and active Term 3 in HPE!
Students from Kinder to Grade 6 began the term with a gymnastics unit, developing fundamental skills such as balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, body control, safe landings and movement awareness. During lessons at school, students practised these skills through a range of activities, challenges and movement sequences. It was wonderful to see them build confidence, try new skills and challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
To finish the unit, Kinder and Prep enjoyed fun excursions to Eastside Activity Centre and the Grades 1 - 6 students visited Clarence Gymsports. These excursions gave students the opportunity to apply the skills they had practised at school while exploring a range of exciting gymnastics equipment.
With the weather beginning to warm up just in time, we have now moved into athletics preparation for our school carnival on Wednesday, 23rd September. During PE lessons, all students will practise a variety of track and field events, allowing them to discover which events they enjoy and may like to challenge themselves in.
Students will also learn about teamwork, encouragement and house spirit as we prepare for a fantastic day of participation, physical activity and school community!
