Acting Principal's Message

What a busy last few weeks we have had here at school. JPII has been abuzz with exciting learning opportunities and experiences for our students.

Together, as a school community, we celebrated Book Week with great excitement and enthusiasm. A big thank you to Mrs Gluyas, who assisted with the organisation of our Book Week Parade and awards, as well as Mrs Krishnan, who led our choir beautifully and wrangled all the staff for an impromptu performance of Going on a Bear Hunt.  The day was a great success, with some amazing dress-ups on display! It was wonderful to see the excitement, creativity and enthusiasm of our students as they embraced the joy of reading and celebrated the wonderful world of books.

Students from Kinder - Grade 6 attended an exciting excursion to Emmanuel Christian School, where they had the opportunity to experience the wonderful talents of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO). The musical experience was centred around the theme of ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body’, encouraging our students to explore the important connection between music, wellbeing and healthy minds and bodies. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience live music and engage with the TSO in a fun and meaningful way.

On Thursday at our Parish Mass, we were delighted to present our new House Captains with their badges.  Congratulations to the following students, who will proudly lead their House for the remainder of the school year.

This week, we have celebrated our amazing Teacher Assistants here at JPII. All of the Teacher Assistants who work at JPII are valued and much-loved members of our school community and they all play such an important role in supporting our students and teachers each day.  

Our Teacher Assistants develop strong, trusting relationships with our students, providing encouragement, reassurance and a sense of security, particularly for children who may find aspects of school challenging. They work collaboratively with teachers, leadership, support staff and families. They are important, trusted and valued members of our JPII community.  

Our Teacher Assistants are not simply an extra pair of hands. They are skilled education professionals who understand our students, build positive relationships, collaborate closely with teachers and help to improve, support and enrich the learning experiences of all our students.  

On behalf of our entire school community, I would like to THANK our wonderful Teacher Assistants for everything they do here at JPII. Your dedication, care, patience and commitment to our students are truly appreciated. We are incredibly grateful for all that you do!
