Magis

Magis report

Sadly, with the COVID-19 virus issues,  most of the current gifted and talented competitions have been cancelled or postponed  at least for the rest of this term.  The relevant Magis events affected have been

  • The USA Space Camp
  • WADL Debating
  • Creative Edge Challenge
  • Imaginarium
  • TED-X
  • The John XXIII Public Speaking competition
  • Da Vinci Decathlon

Those who nominated for Space Camp will have the option of participating in 2021. Negotiations for refunds for those not wishing to take up this offer are proceeding and a letter will be sent home soon.

Creative Edge, Imaginarium and TED-X are cancelled, whilst the debating and public speaking will be rescheduled for later in the year. Da Vinci Decathlon organisers are also investigating this possibility.

The Magis-run House Creative Writing Competition (short stories)  will go ahead as planned, with entries closing early next term.

Warmest thanks to all teachers and students who have already put in much work preparing for events like debating, Space Camp and Da Vinci Decathlon. Your efforts and commitments have been deeply appreciated, and we hope and pray that things may return to normal soon.
