Year 2 Christmas Play

This term, in accordance with our Drama Unit, Year 2 have been working on a play based on The Christmas Story. The story is about the important job of the angel, Gabriel, and how he was able to complete the tasks that God had set, to allow everyone to be present for the birth of Jesus.

Year 2 students adopted many roles, including; angels, shepherds, innkeepers, kings, narrators and stars. They held two performances in the brother Luke hall this week.

Move Up Day

On Monday 30 November, the Junior School participated in  'Move Up Day'. All students met with their 2021 teacher/s and class and spent part of the day getting to know each other.

We also welcomed students that will be moving from other schools and joining St Gregory’s College next year. Their buddies looked after them and made them feel very welcome. There were lots of smiling faces as Mr Weekes and I moved around the classrooms.

This day provided the students with an opportunity to feel comfortable, as they enter the holiday period, knowing who their classmates and teacher/s will be in 2021.

Year 6

Year 6 have been learning about the Jesse Tree and created their own to use as a form of Advent Calendar. The students were asked to create symbols as ornaments to represent the different stories from the Bible and then hung them on the Christmas Tree in the Library.

A fantastic task by our Year 6 students with such creative representations of Scripture.

Well done Year 6!

What a wonderful year we have had in Religious Education. It has been fantastic to see the students deepening their knowledge and love for Christ in the classroom.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to facilitate Religious Education in our Junior School this year and I look forward to returning in 2022.

Parents, may the spirit of Christmas fill your homes with joy, peace and love.

Merry Christmas and have a wonderful new year.
