Principal's Address

As we come to the end of Term 3 I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredibly busy, vibrant and rewarding few months at Stella Maris.

Our Term 3 calendar has been filled with wonderful opportunities, events and experiences. It has been fantastic to see our students embrace each one with such enthusiasm, creativity and energy. There is so much to celebrate across our school community.

Book Week & Book Fair brought our school to life with incredible costumes, wonderful celebrations and a shared love of reading. Our successful Book Fair was a wonderful addition and a great reflection of our students’ enthusiasm for books and learning.

District Athletics showcased the determination, sportsmanship and team spirit of our students. We were incredibly proud of the way our athletes represented Stella Maris.

The Art Show was a breathtaking celebration of colour, creativity and talent. It was wonderful to see the incredible artistic expression of students across every year level proudly displayed throughout our school.

Mini Vinnies Initiatives demonstrated the compassion and leadership of our students. Our Mini Vinnies team embraced opportunities to support others and lead meaningful social justice initiatives, truly putting our values into action.

Liturgical and Community Gatherings provided opportunities for us to come together in faith, fellowship and celebration. These moments remind us of the strength of our Stella Maris community and the importance of supporting one another.

It was also a delight to welcome our 2027 Foundation students and their families to Stella Maris for their first Orientation Session.

There was a wonderful sense of excitement as our newest students explored their future classrooms, met their teachers and began getting to know some of their new classmates. It was lovely to see so many happy faces as they took their first steps towards becoming part of our Stella Maris community.

None of these wonderful opportunities would be possible without our extraordinary staff. A heartfelt thank you to our teachers, LSOs, administration team and all members of our staff for your dedication, creativity and tireless work throughout the term. Your commitment creates a learning environment where our students feel supported, encouraged and able to thrive.

To our wonderful families thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement and partnership. Whether you have cheered from the sidelines, celebrated your child’s achievements, supported our fundraising and social justice initiatives or simply encouraged your children each day. Your involvement helps bring the spirit of Stella Maris to life.

As we head into the holidays, I hope everyone has the opportunity to slow down, rest and enjoy some special time with family and friends.

Wishing all our students, families and staff a safe, happy and restful holiday break. Take the time to recharge and enjoy the moments that matter. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting term at Stella Maris. 

Continuing to Improve Our School

Over the school holidays we will continue working behind the scenes to improve and enhance our school environment for our students. We are very excited that our Kitchen Garden project will be completed ready for the beginning of Term 4. We are also very grateful to our local Bunnings team, who will be supporting us with the start-up of our garden by providing seedlings and other gardening materials. This will provide our students with a wonderful hands-on opportunity to learn about growing, sustainability, wellbeing and caring for our environment.

We will also be taking the opportunity over the holidays to remove the existing sand from our sandpit and replace it with fresh, clean sand. A new sandpit cover will also be installed so that the sand can be kept clean and protected when the sandpit is not in use. These improvements are all part of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for our Stella Maris students to learn, play and flourish.
