In The Classroom With Year 2

Over the past few weeks, we have been working on worded problems using the four operations - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Students have been practising how to identify the important information in each question and decide which operation is needed to solve the problem. Many students were excited to share the maths work they have been completing in class. 

In Literacy, we have been doing lots of narrative writing. The students have loved sharing their stories and ideas. As a class, we created a shared plan featuring two characters, Danni the Dolphin and Sammi the Seahorse. Students then decided how the problem in their story would unfold and how it would be solved. They were very proud of their writing and excited to share their work.

This week in Little Learners, we have been revising some of our learning from across the term. Students used a picture prompt and a word bank containing familiar spelling patterns to write about kids surfing. Charli wrote a wonderful piece about Sally and Jack taking selfies and heading out for a surf. Liv also shared a great piece about Elliot and Alex paddling quickly to catch the best waves.

In Religion, we read a scripture passage from Acts that describes the beginning of the Catholic Church. Luke want to share some of his learning from the lesson
