Sub Junior 7 Grandfinal
The team played incredibly well and put in a strong performance, but unfortunately came up just short in a close game against Thorndon Park. While naturally disappointed, the team is very proud of how far they’ve come — especially after starting the season with three straight losses. They’re already excited and hungry for the upcoming winter netball season.
It was particularly special to see so many teachers, staff, and students come out to support the team. The atmosphere really highlighted the wonderful school spirit at Magill and created a memorable moment for all our players.

On Wednesday 25th of March, Magill School ventured down the road to face Rostrevor College in a knockout T20 cricket match. The Magill side consisted of year 5 and year 6 students with a mix of cricket experience, but one shared love of cricket.
Magill lost the toss and was sent in to bat. Runs were hard to come by for the first few overs but thanks to Kalama’s patient unbeaten 25 runs and contributions from Saudh and Chanpreet, Magill managed a total of 64 runs.
Rostrevor made a fast start to their run chase before Nathan claimed the first wicket of the innings. Shortly after, another wicket fell thanks to James K’s direct hit run out. Unfortunately, the spark provided by James’s skilful fielding wasn’t enough to help Magill get over the line with Rostrevor chasing down the total with 9 overs to go.
The boys can certainly hold their heads high. The way they conducted themselves and the sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout the day was exactly what we come to expect from our Magill students.
A big thank you to Sean Cotter who volunteered his time to attend the trials, training and the game. We appreciate you sharing your extensive knowledge with us.
Thank you to the parents who took time off work to get students to the game and support us throughout.
