REMEMBRANCE DAY

🌺 A Moment of Reflection and Remembrance
On November 11, our whole school gathered for a special Remembrance Day Assembly led by our SRC students.
Commencing at 10:55am, the ceremony opened with Cry for My Country by Lugh Damen, followed by an Acknowledgement of Country and reflections on the significance of November 11 - marking 107 years since the end of the First World War.
Students led the service with the Ode, The Last Post, a minute’s silence, and The Rouse, honouring the courage and sacrifice of those who have served. A single wreath was laid in remembrance, accompanied by thoughtful readings reflecting on the enduring cost of war and the importance of peace.
Ari Cooper delivered a heartfelt reading of In Flanders Fields by John McCrae, followed by a moving performance of I Was Only 19 by Mr Feegar and Mr Izzard.
Thank you to all students, staff, and especially our SRC leaders for guiding such a respectful and meaningful commemoration.

🌺 Remembrance Day Service 2025 🌺
Lilydale High School students attended the Remembrance Day Service today at the Lilydale Cenotaph to honour the service and sacrifice of Australians who have served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
Our students showed great respect and resilience despite the cold and wet conditions. A very special thank you to our Year 10 Vice Captains, Abbey Woods and Georgia Gow, for beautifully reading “In Flanders Fields” and laying a wreath on behalf of the school.
Abbey and Georgia represented Lilydale High School with pride - they were respectful, articulate, and a true credit to our school community.
Lest We Forget. 🌺
