Zone Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to the 29 Holy Family Students who attended last week's Zone Swimming Carnival. The day was a huge success with all students putting in their best efforts in their races.

Special congratulations to Ruby (year 3) who took away 1st place in the 9 years girls 50m Freestyle and broke the diocesan record with a blistering time of 41.7sec.

Congratulations also to Harry H (year 6) who placed second in the 12-13 years 50m Breaststroke. Both these students advanced to the Zone carnival held on Tuesday and both students represented our zone with pride. Well done to these talented swimmers. Who knows? Perhaps we have a future Australian swim team "Dolphin" among us!

Cross Country Carnival - New date!

Thank you to parents for their patience as we navigated the rescheduling of our Cross Country Carnival. The cancelled carnival has meant we have more time to prepare the students for the endurance aspect of  Cross Country. To do this, we have been doing the good old fashioned "Beep Test" during class sport lessons. It has been very impressive to see the dedication from years 2-6 with this activity!

I am pleased to advise that we have secured a new date for the Cross Country carnival:

Date: Thursday19 March 2026.

Location: Primula Oval

Grades: Years 2–6

A reminder of some important things for the day.....

What Students Need to Wear

  • Full Sports Uniform
  • School hat (must be worn at all times except while racing)

What to Bring

  • Water bottle (clearly labelled)
  • Recess and lunch
  • Sunscreen (applied before leaving home and packed in bags)

  • 10 years (Boys & Girls): 2km (2 laps)
  • 8/9 years (Boys & Girls): 2km (2 laps)

Students must run the entire race (not walk) to be eligible for selection in the next level of competition.

Representative Team Selection

The carnival allows us to select the top six boys and girls from each age group (8–12 years) to represent the school at the Cluster Championships.

Please note:

  • The 8/9 years age group is combined, with only six competitors per gender qualifying overall.
  • Official results will be confirmed after the carnival.
