Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents,
Celebrating Our Green Team – CCSP Family Partnerships Excellence Award
Last Friday, at our whole school assembly, we were honoured to welcome special guests from the Council of Catholic School Parents (CCSP):Anne Fehon and Cath Garrett‑Jones as well as Mrs Shatek, Lindfield Parish, and Mr Mitsui, parent representative. Their visit was part of a special presentation recognising the wonderful work of our Holy Family Green Team.
The CCSP Family Partnerships Excellence Awards celebrate NSW Catholic schools that demonstrate outstanding practice in building strong partnerships between families, schools, and the wider community. We are very proud that our Green Team received recognition for their inspirational contribution to sustainability, service, and community connection.
About the Green Team Project
The Green Team initiative brings together our parish, school, families, and the wider Lindfield community. Using funds raised through the NSW Return and Earn program, students and families collaboratively grow and maintain garden areas across both the school and parish grounds. Beyond gardening, this project nurtures:
- Intergenerational relationships
- Environmental stewardship
- Service to others
- Shared responsibility grounded in Catholic social teaching
What the Judges Said
The CCSP judging panel praised the project with the following comments:
- “Love the idea of a citrus garden. This project encourages a deeper connection between students, their environment, community and values, as well as active citizenship and environmental responsibility.”
- “Great to see parish and school working closely together, as intergenerational learning is so important for many of our students who lack contact with older people.”
Student Leadership in Action
One of the highlights of the day was seeing our Green Team members confidently accompany our guests on a tour of the school and parish gardens. They proudly shared the various projects underway and explained how their work is helping to shape a more sustainable and connected community. Their enthusiasm, knowledge, and leadership were truly impressive.
Launch of the Green Team Mission Statement and 2026 Goals
During the assembly, the Green Team officially launched their Mission Statement and unveiled their 2026 Goals, which reflect their deep commitment to caring for creation.
2026 Green Team Mission Statement
Our mission in 2026 is to educate the Holy Family community and students to be responsible stewards of God’s creation by taking meaningful actions that preserve and protect the Earth for future generations.
2026 Green Team Goals
- Re‑educate our community and continue improving paper recycling across the school
- Explore new ways to reduce rubbish and plastic waste
- Create a Prayer Garden around the statue of St Francis to mark the Year of St Francis, declared by Pope Leo XIV
- Engage the school and parish community through environmental initiatives, including meaningful Earth Day activities.
Congratulations to the Green Team for their well‑deserved recognition including an award of $750 and a certificate of Recognition. Their leadership is an inspiration to us all.

Siena Catholic College
We are delighted to announce that Catholic Schools Broken Bay is establishing a new K-12 co-educational College in Pymble from 2027. This new College, Siena Catholic College, will be the existing catholic primary school sites of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour (OLPS), West Pymble, and Sacred Heart, Pymble. The Siena Junior Campus for students in Years K-4 will be located on the West Pymble site, and the Senior Campus for students in Years 5-12, will be located on the Pymble site. There will be a gradual transition to this structure over the next few years, with the first intake of Year 7 students being welcomed to Siena Catholic College in January 2027. By 2030 Siena will be a full K-12 College.
There will be an annual intake of Yr 7 students into Siena Catholic College, and students in our CSBB primary schools will be given preferential consideration for enrolment in Years 7-12. Students completing Year 6 in any of our CSBB primary schools have always had a pathway into St Leo’s Catholic College in Wahroonga and Mercy Catholic College in Chatswood; Siena offers an additional option in response to community feedback about the need for another Catholic College on the North Shore.
Families are warmly invited to attend the Siena Catholic College Open Days in March 2026 to meet key staff, hear about the vision for the new College, and explore the facilities and programs that will be available.
