Leadership

This year has marked the beginning of a significant period of transition for Thornbury Primary School with the commencement of our school upgrade mid-year. Recent works have included the pouring of the slab at the southern end of the main building extension and the installation of the lift shaft. Over the summer break, the remainder of the main building extension slab will be poured, and it is possible that some of the steel framing will be in place when we return at the end of January. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding throughout the year as we have navigated the restricted use of the school grounds.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our wonderful staff — teachers, education support staff, and the Leadership Team — for your ongoing guidance, dedication, and care in supporting all of our students.
To our parents and community members, thank you for the continued support and encouragement you provide to both our students and staff. Your partnership is greatly valued.
A special thank you to our School Council, Social Committee, and Buildings and Grounds Committee for their commitment to improving our school. Your efforts in supporting community connection and fundraising activities throughout the year are greatly appreciated.
Today we farewell our Year 6 students, as well as a number of staff members who will be moving on to new schools and new opportunities for professional growth. We wish our Year 6 students every success as they transition to a range of secondary schools. To all families leaving Thornbury Primary School, we thank you for your contributions to our community and wish you all the very best for the future.
On behalf of the staff at Thornbury Primary School, I wish all families a safe and enjoyable break. If you are celebrating Christmas, I hope you enjoy this special time with family and friends.
